Crankie Festival Mini-Grants Now Available

This image depicts two performers with a crankie (a scrolled panorama light box) in between them and has the words "CrankieFesr Mini Grants" in bold lettering.

The Center for Cultural Vibrancy is offering mini-grants of up to $1,250 to offset artist fees at festivals centered on the visual storytelling tradition of crankies.

For the purposes of this program, a festival is defined as one or more nights of primarily crankie-forward programming featuring three or more crankie artists.

Applications are due February 20th at midnight. There are no geographic restrictions, and both new and existing festivals taking place in 2026 are eligible.

Proposals will be reviewed based on artistic quality and alignment with stated festival goals.
