We are still recovering from last week’s country blues residency with the mighty Jontavious Willis in the greater Baltimore and Washington DC region. He shared the African American blues tradition with students at Hereford, Franklin, Pikesville, and Perry Hall high schools as well as at Booker T. Washington Middle School as part of World Culture in Context program. For those brave few, he invited them to jam with him, prompted some to improvise blues lyrics with him, and connected with all deeply and profoundly. We capped the daytime outreach with two sold-out shows at the Hill Center and Creative Alliance with harmonica master Andrew Alli.
