“The Thang” is the place to be. Otherwise known as the Affrolachian On-Time Music Gathering, The Thang brings together lovers and practitioners of Black Appalachian music and dance in the Piedmont of Central Virginia. This 3 day event will take place September 30 through October 2 in Orange, Virginia, culminating in a concert and gospel sing to support a mutual aid fund for regional Black instrumentalists, singers, dancers and storytellers. We are proud to be a supporter of this important event.
The Affrolachian On-Time Music Gathering is produced by the cultural nonprofit Imani Works, an organization dedicated to the promotion of human rights through advocacy and education.
